Liv Greene is an Americana singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and educator, whose music “envelops a forlorn loneliness that’s at once poignant and crushing”– American Songwriter. Inspired by the records played in her childhood home in Washington D.C., artists like Patty Griffin, Alison Krauss, Shawn Colvin and Teddy Thompson, Greene’s passion for songs started early, and took off the moment she taught herself her first guitar chords at age 12.
Liv has devoted much of her young life to being a student of music, both institutionally at Interlochen Arts Academy and the New England Conservatory, but also through immersion in the New England folk/bluegrass scene from age 15 on. A skilled educator, Greene has taught in both one-on-one and in group settings, working with multiple age groups ranging from middle and high school kids at Interlochen Arts Camp, to adult learners in the Club Passim School of Music.
Now Nashville based, Greene makes her living teaching, touring, and collaborating with her community, lending her sideman talents to countless artists including Peter Bradley Adams, Ric Roberston, Olivia Barton, Jess Kerber, Jack Schneider, and Jobi Riccio, to name just a few. Liv just completed work on her 2nd, soon-to-be-released record, Deep Feeler, which she self-produced and made in collaboration with engineer Matt Andrews (Gillian Welch), due out in the coming year. The record contains 10 new original works recorded live to tape with the help of talented friends Sarah Jarosz (I’m With Her), Mike Robinson (Sarah Jarosz, I’m With Her), Jordan Tice (Hawktail), Christian Sedelmyer (10 String Symphony), and more.
